Whether your device supports eSIM depends on whether the manufacturer has included the eSIM feature. For your convenience, we provide a list of devices that support eSIM.
In certain countries and regions, some models may not have eSIM functionality. Additionally, the carrier from which you purchased the device may not have enabled the eSIM feature.
Follow these steps to check if your iOS device supports eSIM technology. Note that these steps might apply to your device, but it’s always best to confirm with your device manufacturer, supplier, or primary carrier.
For iPhone:
- Open the Settings app, then tap General.
- Tap About.
- Tap the Model Number until it changes to an AXXXX format.
- Verify that your iPhone's model number is not from the China region.
If the model number does not match any devices from mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau, your device should support eSIM. Next, follow these steps to check if your iPhone is carrier-locked or unlocked.
Open the Settings app, then tap General.
1.Tap About.
2.Scroll down and look for the Carrier Lock field. If it says No SIM restrictions next to Carrier Lock, your iPhone is unlocked.
For iPad:
- Open the Settings app, then tap General.
- Tap About.
- Tap the Model Number until it changes to an AXXXX format.
- Verify that your iPad's model number is not from the China region. This information can be found here.
If the model number does not match any models from mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau, and your device supports cellular functionality, it should support eSIM.
If you are still unsure, remember to consult the device manufacturer, supplier, or primary carrier to confirm eSIM functionality.
